Pramod Sharma, a distinguished educator and cultural enthusiast, served as Head of the English Department, Master English (Gp ‘A’ Gaz) at the prestigious Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun. Born in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, a region steeped in natural beauty, Pramod’s early life was shaped by his family’s rich legacy of freedom fighters and educators. This environment nurtured his deep-seated desire to serve his motherland, leading him to find his true calling in the teaching profession.

During his academic journey at Govt. P.G. College, Solan, Pramod’s creative spirit began to flourish. He became an integral member of the college’s Theatre Club, where his passion for the arts earned him accolades, including a victory at the Inter College Youth Festival and the opportunity to represent Himachal Pradesh University at the Inter-University level. His love for languages also blossomed during this time, leading him to become the Editor of the Pahari Section of the college magazine, Himanshu, in 2003.

Pramod’s professional career commenced at DAV School, Shoghi, where he quickly established himself as a dedicated educator. His commitment to sharing his knowledge and skills was evident as he helped his students excel in debating, with one of his pupils winning first prize at a state-level inter-school declamation contest.

Pramod’s passion for the stage and his love for language found another outlet when he became a professional Radio Jockey, Voiceover Artist, Jingle Expert, and Anchor at the first community radio station in Himachal Pradesh. His work in radio culminated in anchoring a function for His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji, broadcast live in 156 nations.

Before joining RIMC, Pramod served as an Assistant Professor at APG University, Shimla, where he founded the Alakh Theatre Group, directing numerous plays and winning several awards. His innovative approach to education led to his appointment as Head of the English Learning Programme, designed specifically for foreign students.

At RIMC, Pramod embraced the challenge of working in a residential setting, where he not only provided pastoral care but also built strong, supportive relationships with his cadets. His leadership and creativity have greatly enriched the institution, particularly in the fields of drama and debating, where his efforts have led to numerous national victories.

Currently, Pramod is on a mission to transform the dreams of job aspirants into reality. He prepares students for a wide range of competitive English exams, including SSC CGL, IBPS Banking, NDA, CDS, CLAT, and other national-level examinations across the length and breadth of the nation. His teaching approach is designed to inspire confidence, foster critical thinking, and ensure that every student has the opportunity to achieve their goals.

Pramod’s multifaceted personality drives him to explore new avenues constantly. He has directed multiple plays and mimes, served as the Associate Dean of Cultural Activities, and remains passionately involved in various creative pursuits, including music, meditation, poetry, and documentary filmmaking. His commitment to education and community service extends beyond his professional life, as evidenced by his adoption of a school in Himachal Pradesh and the institution of the Student of the Year Trophy in memory of his beloved student, the late Mr. Vivek.

Throughout his career, Pramod has adhered to a set of guiding principles that emphasize learning from both success and failure, paying attention to detail, striving for excellence, practicing happiness, and meditating regularly. His dedication to these values has earned him recognition, including a Commendation Card from Lt. Gen. Nav K. Khandoori, GOC-IN-C Western Command, in 2019, and a Commendation Medallion from Lt. Gen. C.P. Mohanty, GOC UB Area, in 2022.
